A well-planned death ambush for Thanasis Kalogeropoulos seems to have been set up by the perpetrators in the coastal area of Limassol on Monday morning.
According to what RIK reported, the perpetrators wore hoods and black clothes and parked in a parking lot. The victim frequented the area after taking his morning swim at the beach.
As the state channel broadcasts, the two people in black clothes and hoods, approached the victim on foot and opened fire on him, with a pistol and an automatic weapon.
Kalogeropoulos tried to escape in his vehicle, however, he was shot again and fell dead. The two hooded men then got into a vehicle and fled.
A few minutes later, the perpetrators seem to have set fire to the vehicle they used during their escape in the area of Germasogeia.
Inside the car, police found a handgun and a Kalashnikov.
