Video of an aerial rescue operation mounted Tuesday afternoon by the National Guard Helicopter Search and Rescue Coordination Center was released today. The KSED proceeded to airlift a female patient from a ship to the Paphos Hospital.
According to yesterday's announcement, at 15:55, the National E-D NEARCHOS Plan was activated in order to airlift a 62-year-old patient, who was on board the Maltese-flagged passenger ship "Evrima" and while it was sailing 110NM west of Cyprus, within the area responsibility of the Republic of Cyprus (FIR Nicosia).
To carry out the mission, a helicopter of the 460MED of the Aviation Administration of the Greek Air Force was mobilized, with a specialized nurse of the Ambulance Service.
The patient was safely delivered at 19:00 at Paphos General Hospital.
