On January 8, a 37-year-old man from Akrotiri was arrested in connection with a series of residential burglaries, acts of malicious damage and thefts in the Akrotiri area.

Police investigations revealed a connection between the suspect and 12 cases in recent months, which led to his arrest and the recovery of stolen goods.

The incidents had caused great concern among residents and theft remains one of the five key priorities of the BB Police, due to its direct impact on community safety and quality of life.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Crime Detection Department, Giannos Karkanias, emphasized that the close cooperation between the police and the local community was a decisive factor in the arrest.

As he stated: "We recognized these specific cases as a critical issue for the community that required immediate action.

"Through effective intelligence gathering and a targeted, coordinated approach, we managed to secure crucial evidence, which led to the arrest of the suspect and the recovery of stolen property."

"We continue to urge the public to take proactive measures to protect their property and report any suspicious activity, while reaffirming our commitment to enhancing public safety and protecting the community."

A court date has not yet been set.
