The Police proceeded with the arrest of a 48-year-old resident of Nicosia, in order to facilitate investigations regarding an investigated case of illegal possession of property and carrying a knife. The 48-year-old was located and arrested outside an abandoned house, in the province of Nicosia, following information about a burglary in said house.
Specifically, around 7 p.m. yesterday, information was received at the Police, about a possible burglary, in an abandoned house, in a rural area of a village in the province of Nicosia. Members of the Pera Chorio Police Station immediately went to the area, where they spotted a man exiting the fence of the house in question, having a bat in his possession.
As soon as the stranger noticed the policemen, he ran away, however the members of the Police stopped them. As it was established, from the tests that followed, this is a 48-year-old resident of Nicosia.
The 48-year-old's car was also found close to the house. Inside the vehicle, various burglary tools, a knife, a bat, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of crystal substance, believed to be narcotics, were located and seized. A large number of musical instruments and ten mobile phones were also located and confiscated, for which the 48-year-old did not give satisfactory explanations as to how they came into his possession.
As a result, the 48-year-old was arrested and taken into custody to facilitate investigations.
The Pera Chorio Police Station is investigating the case.
