Following the Government's decision and the implementation of additional protection measures against the pandemic from tomorrow, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth decided not to conduct the written exams scheduled for the Lyceums and Technical Schools in January.
Regarding the evaluation of the students of the A 'and B' Lyceum and Technical Schools for the first four months, the relevant process is completed these days and only the part that concerns the "oral evaluation" by the teachers will be notified, while the overall evaluation will be completed at the end of the second four months, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations.
For this decision, the views submitted in yesterday's teleconference of the Minister with the Confederation of Federations of Parents' Associations of Secondary General and Secondary Technical Education and the leadership of OELMEK and OLTEK were also taken into account. Although it would be possible to take exams, taking the appropriate health care measures as will be done with other examinations to be conducted during this period and despite the fact that the Ministry takes into account that the students were already prepared for written evaluation at the end of the four-month period, it was considered preferable not to take exams now, since there is the possibility of the examination period at the end of the second four months.
Responding to a request from organized parents, the Minister assured that the Ministry is constantly monitoring the development of teaching and will formulate accordingly the evaluation criteria for this school year, taking into account the special conditions created due to the implementation of measures.
All other issues will be discussed afterwards, while the necessary Directorates of the Ministry will be given the necessary relevant instructions to the schools.
