The teaching of English in the XNUMXnd Lyceum will continue, said the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, Prodromos Prodromou. In statements to the Primary School of Istanbul, he also said that "all this discussion that took place is not justified" and referred to "political reasons".

Asked what will happen now that the English textbook used in the B 'Lyceum has been withdrawn, Mr. Prodromou said that the book is one of the three books used.

"Teaching will continue, we will take care of the teachers in the schools, so that the teaching develops smoothly. There will be no problem. And of course at some point there will be a book normally in the lessons. We are already investigating the incident at the Ministry, but I know and I must say that it was not the only book that presented a problem ", he added.

As he said, nine other high school books have already been restored and corrected.

"So, in general, there was an issue. It seems that these books by bad communication were probably intended for another country and not for Cyprus. In any case, it is something that we can deal with and resolve immediately and I will repeat that from the second moment, with a delay of a few hours, this issue was resolved and there is no justification for all this discussion that took place, which I will repeat "Obviously more is being done for political reasons and around views that exist on the management of the Cyprus issue," he concluded.
