Waiting for the final Police report on the death of the 42-year-old, who died two weeks after a hysterectomy she underwent at Larnaca General Hospital, recommends the Minister of Health, Neophytos Charalambides, confirming that an administrative investigation has already been ordered by the Health and Safety Authority, while the case is now also being investigated criminally following a complaint from the family.
In his statements, following a visit he made on Wednesday to the Nicosia General Hospital, Mr. Charalambides said, referring to the case in question, that "from the very beginning, an investigation has been ordered by our side", noting that "it has been confirmed by the OKYpY that an investigation has been initiated with the appointment of investigating officers".
Mr. Charalambides said that following the complaint made to the Police, we should await the final findings and the outcome of the police investigation.
It is recalled that the 42-year-old was hospitalized after a hysterectomy surgery she underwent on January 16 and died two weeks after her hospitalization after falling into a comatose and irreversible state.
The family of the 42-year-old is requesting a full and in-depth investigation of the case, while it has already filed a complaint with the Police and, in parallel with the administrative investigation that has been ordered, a police investigation is also underway.
