The Minister of Health, Michalis Hadjipandelas, expressed his intention to keep the schools open in a Twitter post.

Specifically, he stated that "our concern is to keep the schools open and this will be the main topic of discussion in today's meeting with the members of the Scientific Advisory Committee".

It is reminded that the Minister of Health and the members of the Advisory Scientific Committee are meeting today, in order to evaluate the epidemiological picture, while the experts are expected to put suggestions on the table for new, stricter measures, which will be used - if and when the situation presents worsening.

During today's meeting of the Minister of Health with the epidemiologists, the situation will be evaluated in the current phase, to note that "the next 24 hours are critical".

According to KYPE, the tightening of measures is something that is not being considered at the moment, while less than a week has passed since the new stricter measures were taken (January 5) and it takes time for them to work.

Answering a relevant question of KYPE, a competent source stated that for the time being no scenario is being discussed, which concerns the movement of citizens.

He also said that the possibility of imposing a night traffic ban is ruled out at the moment.

"The situation will be constantly assessed and if there is a sharp increase in patients in the ICU and deemed necessary, the Council of Ministers will convene for decisions," he concluded.
