The authorities of the Republic have been mobilized, after the information that a large number of Syrians are preparing to leave Lebanon, bound for Cyprus.
Yesterday, a boat carrying 95 migrants from Syria was spotted off Cape Greco.
As the director of the press office of the Ministry of Interior, Loizos Hatzivasileiou, said in the morning itinerary, in the statements received, the information was given that another 500 immigrants are in a village in Lebanon, waiting to board ships, to be transported to Cyprus.
The interior minister, added Mr. Hatzivasiliou, spoke with his Lebanese counterpart, to whom he gave the information and requesting, in case it is valid, that measures be taken to prevent the new wave of immigrants to Cyprus.
