The Ministry of Interior, in consultation with the other competent state authorities, examined the data as it has developed in recent days in the Akrotiri area.
According to the assessment made, it was decided that, at this stage, the evacuation regime in the Akrotiri area will not be extended. The Mayor of Kourion and the Deputy Mayor of Akrotiri have already been informed of the decision.
Despite the end of the evacuation, the area remains on heightened alert and the situation will be constantly reassessed, with the aim of taking timely measures should a new need arise. In this context, Civil Defense teams remain proactive and continue to patrol the area.
