The contribution of the diaspora and Hellenism everywhere in the effort to support the Republic of Cyprus in dealing with problems and especially the problem of occupation is more than important, said the Minister of the Interior Nikos Nouris, at the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos in New York, on the occasion of the celebrations for the independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
As he said, the contribution of the homogeneity and the ubiquitous Hellenism is "the cornerstone of the efforts of the Government, of the respective governments so that we can finally reach a sustainable solution".
In his statements after the celebration in the Holy Church of Agios Nikolaos, Mr. Nouris who was accompanied by the Deputy Government Representative Niovi Parisinou, stated that we conveyed "the message of the day which is a message of satisfaction on the one hand for the fact that the Cypriot A democracy since 1960 has enjoyed independence, but at the same time a "withered" independence, which is unfortunately stigmatized by the occupation of our country".
