The Larnaca District Court issued an eight-day detention order yesterday, Tuesday, April 1, against a 26-year-old woman, after a quantity of cannabis weighing approximately 40 kilograms was found in her luggage upon her arrival at Larnaca Airport.
A statement from the Police Communications Branch states that "the Force and the Customs Department, within the framework of their cooperation and coordinated actions to identify persons importing drugs into the Republic, proceeded to seize a quantity of cannabis, weighing approximately 40 kilograms. The cannabis was found in the luggage of a 26-year-old woman, who arrived from abroad at Larnaca Airport on Sunday, March 30."
Specifically, "in a search conducted on the 26-year-old's two travel bags, 2 vacuum-sealed nylon packages were found, inside which there were smaller packages containing cannabis plant material with a gross weight of approximately 40 kilograms. The 26-year-old was arrested for flagrant offenses and taken into custody."
It is added that "the woman was brought before the Larnaca District Court yesterday, Tuesday, April 1, which issued a detention order for her for a period of eight days."
The Larnaca District Level of the National Vocational Training Commission continues its exams.
