Hotel employee who stole from rooms in custody

The 20-year-old hotel employee who opened rooms with a master key was detained for three days

A three-day detention order was issued on Saturday by the Paphos District Court to a 20-year-old hotel employee, to facilitate investigations into three cases of break-ins and thefts from rooms at the Paphos hotel where he worked.

According to the press representative of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos, Michalis Nikolaou, on the dates of September 8, 18 and 20, it was reported by three different tenants of the hotel that various sums of money were stolen from their rooms.

During the visits of the Police to the scene, no violations of doors or windows were detected.

From the tests carried out, testimony emerged against the 20-year-old employee of the hotel, according to which he allegedly proceeded to steal the sums of money by entering the rooms with a passepartout key.

He was subsequently arrested on a warrant and held in custody for three days. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
