The Pancypriot Association of Hoteliers (PASYXE) welcomes and expresses its satisfaction with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of the Republic of Cyprus and the Arab Republic of Egypt, for the employment of Egyptian citizens in Cyprus.

The lack of labor force in Cyprus, which continues to plague businesses, created the need for the conclusion of this Memorandum, which is a positive development to alleviate the problem, reports PASYXE.

"Therefore, this decision is in the right direction but at the same time it emphasizes the need to take immediate actions so that our tourism industry can benefit from the employment of Egyptian citizens this year," he notes.

The country's economy and tourism in particular - apart from the lack of labor force - continue to face new challenges such as the Israeli war and yesterday's bankruptcy of the FTI Tour Operator, the Association emphasizes. "In view of this, the uncertainty continues, increasing the degree of difficulty in trying to reach last year's results in arrivals and revenues," he concludes.
