Council of Ministers: SafePass possession controls are mandatory with the CovScan Cyprus application

Mandatory through the CovScanCyprus application will be carried out from Monday, November 8, the inspections in the establishments / companies where the SafePass demonstration is mandatory, after a decision of the Council of Ministers and in consultation of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Culture.

Therefore, in the establishments / companies where SafePass ownership is required, their owners / managers or their authorized employees must, until November 8, ensure the implementation, in order to carry out the controls. The application can be installed on any device using Android software and is available for free through Google Play. The application quickly and securely certifies the validity of the European Digital Certificate (EUDCC) for SafePass purposes and is expected to greatly facilitate the audit process.

The control through the application is done by scanning the QR code that appears on the certificate (in printed or electronic form) and presents the following validity test results:

- Green: The certificate is valid and means that the holder has completed his vaccination regimen or has contracted the disease COVID-19.

- Yellow / Orange: The certificate is valid and means that the holder has undergone a PCR or rapid antigen test (rapid test) with a negative result.

- Red: The certificate is invalid.

It is emphasized that the application was designed in compliance with all the provisions for the protection of personal data, shows only the name and date of birth of the holder and does not store the personal data of the citizen or the history of checks.
