The Auditor General's Spokesperson, Marios Petridis, spoke about the Auditor General's Report on the OAY and the abuses in the GESS, on SIGMA's show "Protoselido".

He said that based on the data of the research, while the Health Insurance Organization has recorded a large increase in its revenues, it also recorded a dramatic increase in expenditures, noting that its budget is in deficit.

In the budget, he added, there are about 110 million deficit for 2022, while the real deficit amounts to 233 million, if we calculate the 123 million expenditures of the Ministry of Health and OKYPY on behalf of OAY.

Mr. Petridis stated that the Service calls on the state to reduce the global budgets, if the OAU does not do so.

Speaking about the findings of the report, he noted that there were doctors who in 2017 declared 36,000 euros in Income Tax, in 2018 and 2019 did not declare anything and received total compensation from the OAU for 2020 amounting to more than 600,000 euros.

Another natural person, he said, declared 36,000 euros in the Tax in 2017 and 2018, did not declare income in 2019 and in 2020 received compensation in excess of 600,000 euros.

"OAY is not in danger of going bankrupt, what is in danger of becoming is instead of costing us 100, it costs us 200", he stated characteristically.

Finally, he noted that the internal control in the OAU is very degraded.
