Two people, a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, were arrested yesterday by members of the Police, in connection with the investigated cases of burglary, attempted burglary of a second home, and illegal possession of property.

The two suspects were located by members of the Paphos Police Department in the area of ​​a hotel complex in Paphos, where an attempted burglary and burglary of the two houses were committed yesterday morning, and they proceeded to arrest them, after evidence emerged against them.

The members of TAE went to the hotel complex for examination purposes, around 11.00 yesterday at noon, after a complaint was made to the Police by a woman who lived in the residence of the complex, for an attempt to break into her residence. According to the complaint, shortly before 6.30 on Thursday morning, the complainant noticed an unknown man trying to break a window of her house and after she called for help, the suspect fled.

While the members of TAE Paphos were conducting examinations at the scene of the burglary attempt, around 11.30 pm, the complainant recognized and pointed out the suspicious man, 26 years old, who at that time was leaving a nearby house of the hotel complex, in a car that he was driving, with a 22-year-old woman as his co-driver. It was later established that the 26-year-old and the 22-year-old had rented the previous day and were staying at the house from which they were seen leaving in their car.

The members of the Police stopped the vehicle of the two suspects for control and after they found a laptop in the possession of the 22-year-old, for the possession of which she did not give satisfactory explanations, they proceeded to arrest the young woman, for the self-inflicted crime of illegal possession of property and for examining whether the computer is a product of theft.

Further examinations carried out at the premises of the residential complex, revealed evidence against the 22-year-old, for the burglary of another house, which was committed shortly before 6.00 on Thursday morning. No property was stolen from the residence.

The 26-year-old and the 22-year-old were arrested with court warrants and were taken into custody for the purpose of police examinations, with the Paphos TAE continuing the examinations.
