"Let's Do It Cyprus" - We cleaned Agia Thekla in one day

The Municipality of Sotira supported the annual pan-Cypriot cleaning campaign with the participation of the Organized Ensembles, the Sotira Youth Center and the Sotira Catechism Meetings and with more than 60 volunteers, they cleaned the coastal front of Sotira, from the church to the church of St. of Poseidon beach.

Almost 15 thousand volunteers rolled up their sleeves and cleaned our island in just one day!

The fourth nationwide voluntary clean-up campaign "Let's Do It Cyprus!", "We are cleaning Cyprus in one day", was held under the auspices of Environment Commissioner Ioanna Panagiotou and with the participation of more than thirteen thousand volunteers.

As the President of the Ecologists George Perdikis stated “If you think that each of us is charged with 70 kg of garbage per year and we are the second country in Europe in garbage production, head over heels, I think everyone understands the importance of today's event.

According to Environment Commissioner Ioanna Panagiotou, "our goal is to clean Cyprus in one day and keep it clean forever."

"Let's do it Cyprus!" is part of the "Let's do it World!" campaign. a global clean-up campaign aimed at freeing the world's natural areas from rubbish.

The official start of the campaign took place in front of the church of the Thirteen Holy Martyrs and Confessors, in the Linear Park behind the Presidential Palace, while for more than a week in cities and villages of the island the campaign will be underway to clean Cyprus.
