Cyprus Airways on the way to MALEV

In a statement, PASYPI comments on the latest developments around the Hungarian airline MALEV, which closed last Friday, comparing the Hungarian airline with Cyprus Airways, pointing out their many similarities.

For the company MALEV notes that it was 95% state-owned company, with a life of 66 years and on the day of its closure employed about 2600 people. Operationally, he adds, it had a fleet of 22 aircraft, all of which were leased, while before its closure, a failed privatization attempt had preceded it, mainly due to its excessive debts, amounting to 345 million euros.
