MEGA Cyprus is changing its name

With the slogan "Let's live the legend", "Mega Cyprus" will make the presentation of its new programs for the new TV season next week, while at the same time it is preparing to announce - and officially - its renaming to "Mega One".

Given the developments in the television sector in Greece and the Pope's decision to close Mega Greece (and other private stations), the Cypriot Mega decided for a year now its solo career by initiating the procedures through the Broadcasting Authority to change its name from " Mega Cyprus "to" Mega One ".

As is known, the operational and financial independence of the channel has been valid for three years, while in the last year there has been a strategic collaboration with STAR Greece, which provides for the rebroadcast of programs as well as co-productions. In fact, for this purpose, the company BPTS (Best Production Technical Support Ltd) has been established with the main shareholder being the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, which has already proceeded with the production of three series ("9 Months", "My Life", "Mother is Missing Travel for Jobs"), which are shown both in Cyprus and in Greece through Star.

According to our information, the "Mega One" badge will start showing on our screens from next Tuesday, October 18, while the official presentation of the relevant commercials that will accompany the campaign of the "new" channel will be "revealed" for the first time. during the presentation of the station program to journalists and advertisers.

For the record, Mega Cyprus was founded under the name "O Logos" on April 25, 1992 as the first private television station in Cyprus and belonged entirely to the Church of Cyprus. Since 1999, "O Logos" started cooperation with "Teletype Cyprus Ltd", the Cypriot subsidiary of "Teletype SA" of Greece.

And so "O Logos" was transmitted with the distinctive mark of Mega Channel on October 11, 1999. In 2016 Mega Cyprus has created a news portal called "TV One News" with news from Cyprus and Greece.
