Mercedes has introduced the renewed E-Class and has now confirmed that it is replacing for the first time in the history of its models, the 7-speed G-Tronic automatic transmission (7G-TRONIC PLUS) of the E350 Blue TEC with a new 9-speed.
This change, although it does not improve performance, as 6,6 dl continue to be required. for 0-100 km / h, significantly improves fuel consumption, in combination with the Start & Stop system with which it is equipped.
More specifically, with the new gearbox, the E350 Blue TEC has an average consumption of 5,3 l / 100 km (from 5,5 l / 100 km) and emissions are limited to 138 g / km. (from 144 g / km).
At the same time, Mercedes proceeded accordingly with the replacement for the E220 CDTI Edition of the 6-speed manual transmission with the 7G-TRONIC PLUS.
As a result, this model now consumes 4,4 l / 100 km (from 4,5) and emits 114 g / km CO2 (from 119) and therefore belongs to the category of Euro 6 engines.
Finally, in the range of E-Class is now available the pictured E200 NGD, which runs on natural gas "wearing" a 4-cylinder 2-liter turbo engine, borrowed from B200 Natural Gas Drive, which delivers 155 horsepower and 269 Nm of torque, while needs 10,4 dl. to complete the 0-100 km / h, with an average consumption of 4,3 kg of natural gas per 100 km (proportionally means about 6,3 l / 100 km).
