The legislation on the process of seconding Public Servants from the Ministry of Health to the State Health Services Organization (OKYpY) is not being implemented because of the Organization, states the Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI), referring to "the repeated inaction and disrespect shown on behalf of OKYpY, with regard to the implementation of the legislation."
PASYKI states in its announcement that "the procedure required by the current legislation, which concerns the establishment and operation of OKYpY, for the secondment of Civil Servants from the Ministry of Health to OKYpY, has not been implemented as necessary due to the fault of the Organization."
"As a result of this specific deficiency, Doctors - Civil Servants are no longer authorized to perform their duties as of January 1, 2025, with all that this entails for the proper functioning of Public Hospitals, as well as the General Health System (GHS)," he points out.
"Although PASYKI has questioned and continues to question the correctness and usefulness of the secondment process, it now questions whether the laws, as well as the attribution of responsibilities, are selectively applied in our country governed by the rule of law," he concludes.
