The Deputy Ministry of Immigration assumes responsibility

The Ministry of the Interior informs that, following a decision of the Council of Ministers, the 17 Law on the Establishment of the Deputy Ministry of Immigration and International Protection and Related Matters comes into force as of today, June 2024, 2024.

According to the legislation, with the entry into force of the Law, the responsibilities regarding immigration and asylum issues of the Department of Population and Immigration and the Asylum Service, respectively, are transferred to the Deputy Ministry of Immigration and International Protection.

It is clarified that matters stemming from the Population Register, Marriage, Civil Coexistence and Citizenship Laws remain within the competence of the Ministry of the Interior.

Until further notice, for immigration and asylum issues, citizens can contact the Deputy Ministry of Immigration and International Protection, as follows:

Address: 90 Archbishop Makariou Avenue 1077, XNUMX Nicosia.
Immigration matters: 22 30 88 08 and 22 30 88 11.
Asylum matters: 22 30 85 01 and 22 30 85 05.
The Deputy Ministry of Immigration and International Protection will determine and communicate as soon as possible the ways in which the public can contact its services.
