Speaking at an event for women, Mr. Malas said that, for the past five years, Cyprus has had a government which, in its report, shows catastrophic failures in the issues of equality, failures, as he mentioned, recorded by international reports.
Presenting in detail his programmatic positions on the issue, Mr. Malas said that if the people decide, from next February, the Council of Ministers and the Boards of Directors of the Semi-Governmental Organizations will consist, 50%, of women.
He also promised equality at work and a targeted fight against the phenomenon of gender inequality. On this, Stavros Malas said that his own government will ensure the effective implementation of the law on equal pay and will set up an observatory with the responsibility to control the process of eliminating inequality.
He also assured that, with specific measures, motherhood will be protected and child care will be ensured.
