We have a targeted social policy to deal with punctuality, said President Christodoulidis, also responding to the demands of the pensioners, who demonstrated yesterday outside the Ministry of Finance.
"Since the beginning of our government, these 19 months we have repeatedly, through specific targeted decisions of the Government, faced the specific issue (of accuracy)", said the President, attending the Scientific conference entitled "1974-2024: Fifty years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus", which takes place at the University of Cyprus.
"I see, listen and carefully study the requests of pensioners and those with many children and single parents," he noted.
He further emphasized that the Government's decisions are always targeted, so that we face the challenges of the specific groups.
The President also referred to the request, which the Government is considering, in relation to the 12% cuts in pensions.
"You know, it's good to see who decided this cut of 12% of pensions for interruption, because I also hear some statements, which we need to know and who made these decisions. I repeat, the Government through a responsible fiscal policy that is proven through continuous upgrades, (which) allows us to have a targeted social policy", he said.
