The independent candidate for the presidency of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis held a meeting with the Panhellenic Committee on Missing Persons in Athens.
During the meeting, issues related to the issue of missing persons were discussed, with the members of the Commission expressing strong anxiety, but also concern in relation to the process of ascertaining the fate of the missing persons, especially in relation to the passage of time.
Mr. Christodoulidis expressed the position that the issue of missing persons can be raised as a Confidence Building Measure, as it is a humanitarian issue that concerns both communities. The members of the Panhellenic Missing Persons Committee also agreed with the position of Mr. Christodoulidis.
During the meeting, ways of preserving memory, especially among the new generations, were also discussed, as well as ways of remembering the drama of the families of the missing.
