The General Registrar of Elections announces that the conduct of exit polls (EXIT POLL) outside the polling centers for the purpose of predicting the final election result, on the day of the Elections, is not prohibited by the current electoral legislation, provided that their result will be issued and it will definitely be announced and only after the announcement by the General Election Commissioner that the voting has been completed and the polls have closed normally in all the polling centers.
Therefore, all companies and television stations intending to conduct such polls are hereby informed that, any publication and announcement of the result of the poll before the close of polls, may result in the criminal prosecution of their directors for violation of the relevant provisions of the Law , due to improper and illegal influence and/or influencing of voters.
In this connection it is stated that any person who tries to directly or indirectly influence, or compel voters to vote or abstain from voting, or any person who tries by fraudulent means to prevent the free exercise of the right to vote by voters, or misleads with different pretexts to the voters, commits the serious electoral offense of illegally influencing and influencing the voters.
In the event of a violation of the Law, those responsible for conducting exit polls (EXIT POLL) may be accused of violating the secrecy of the vote or of obstructing the free exercise of the electors' right to vote or of coercing, misleading or illegally influencing the electors, to cast or abstain from casting their vote, resulting, in case of conviction, in imprisonment of many months and/or a fine.
