The first results for the June 9 elections will be known around 7.30:07 on Sunday evening, while the final results will be given on Monday morning around 00:08 to 00:XNUMX, the Head of the Ministry's Election Service told KYPE Interior Menelaus Vassiliou.
A few days before the elections, the Electoral Service is in a feverish pace of work, now dealing with procedural matters and with the printing press printing the last forms for the elections.
As Mr. Vassiliou mentioned, the number of voters is 705,357. 568,608 are Cypriots of which 834 are Turkish Cypriots. 21,640 are Europeans voting for the local government elections, 11,840 are Europeans voting for the European elections and 103,269 Turkish Cypriots residing in the occupied territories and voting for the European elections.
He noted that around 9.000 people will staff the 1.845 polling stations. Abroad, specifically in Greece, the United Kingdom and Belgium, 17 centers will operate in 13 cities.
Asked about it, he said that next week the polls will be given to the Prefects.
The approved budget for the expenditure of the elections is €6.650.000.
The counting of votes will take place at the local polling stations.
All announcements will be made on Tuesday, June 11th.
Mr. Vassiliou pointed out that the specificity of the June 9 elections lies in the fact that for the first time eight elections will be held at the same time.
As is well known, there will be elections for the nomination of members of the European Parliament, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Municipal Councils, Mayors, members of Community Councils, Presidents of District Self-Governing Organizations and members of School Boards.
In the upcoming elections for the nomination of Members of the European Parliament and Local Government Authorities, all citizens of the Republic aged 18 and over who have their habitual residence in Cyprus, as well as citizens of other member states of the European Union who reside in Cyprus and are registered in the relevant electoral rolls.
