The National Popular Front announces the candidacy of Mr. Linos Papagiannis for the Famagusta District in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Linos Papagiannis, Member of Parliament for Famagusta and member of the Political Council of our Movement, is one of the most dynamic and consistent voices in the country's political scene. With many years of contribution, both inside and outside Parliament, he has stood at the forefront of the struggles for national rights, social justice and the defense of citizens.
The province of Famagusta, a symbol of struggle and resistance, deserves to be served by people with consistency, ethics and determination.
Curriculum
Linos Papagiannis was born in Paralimni on June 27, 1988, originally from occupied Famagusta, specifically from Agia Zoni. He is married to Markella Papetta, and they have 2 sons, George and Pavlos.
He studied Business Administration and Accounting at Manchester Metropolitan University, and speaks Greek and English. In addition, he holds a Diploma in Accounting & Finance, an APNEA Education System International level 1 Diploma and an Open Water 20 Scuba Diving Diploma.
Before being elected as a Member of Parliament for Famagusta with the National Popular Front, he served as a director in a private company.
In 2016, he was elected for the first time as a Member of Parliament for the Famagusta Electoral District with ELAM, for the 11th Parliamentary Period.
As a Member of Parliament, he is a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Environment, and the Rules of Procedure of the House, while he also served as chairman of the ad hoc committee for addressing the demographic problem. At the same time, he is actively involved in other committees of which he is not a member.
In addition, he has participated in conferences concerning the Cyprus problem, the economy and low birth rate.
Since the first day of the establishment of the National Popular Front, he has been actively participating in the ranks of our Party, while since 2010 he has been the District Secretary of ELAM Famagusta and since 2011 a member of the Political Bureau of ELAM.
