The strengthening of Cyprus' tourism cooperation with Egypt and Qatar was discussed by Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis, in successive meetings with the Ambassadors of the two countries in Cyprus, according to an announcement by the Deputy Ministry.
In his meeting with the Ambassador of Egypt, Mohamed Swawky Zaazou, the Cyprus-Egypt air connection, which is characterized by optimistic developments, cruise tourism and the role that tour operators and travel organizers can play in the two countries were discussed, among other things.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism welcomed Ambassador Mr. Zaazou, stating that there are several areas in which the two countries could cooperate with mutual benefit, one of which is tourism, expressing the intention to develop a beneficial dialogue between the two parties to capitalize on the dynamics and opportunities that arise.
For his part, Mr. Zaazou confirmed that Egypt and Cyprus have long been characterized by close ties in various sectors such as trade, economy and culture, while he expressed his willingness to further improve relations and cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector.
Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis and the Ambassador of Egypt Mohamed Swawky Zaazou expressed their positive attitude towards continuing communication between them for the benefit of tourism in both countries.
In a meeting with the Ambassador of Qatar, Yousef Sultan Laram, the Deputy Minister of Tourism stressed the importance of the Qatari tourism market for the country and expressed the will of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism for its further development. He also underlined the importance of strengthening contacts and cooperation between the two countries in tourism.
The Ambassador of Qatar developed Qatar's goals for increasing tourist attraction, also stating that the country's goal is to enrich the flight schedule, improving the connection between Qatar and Cyprus and increasing the volume of visitors between the two countries in the future.
During the meeting, a productive discussion and exchange of views took place on a series of issues concerning tourism in the two countries and ways in which it could benefit, while Mr. Koumis and Mr. Laram agreed that the dialogue and cooperation between them should continue and expand.
