Tension between Averof-Christodoulidis over the "lie" and support for Anastasiadis

Intense confrontation burst out between Averof Neophytos and Nikos Christodoulidis when the journalist Michalis Pavlidis asked the DISY candidate to clarify what was the lie he was referring to.

Taking the floor, he said that "three times tonight, Christodoulidis said that President Anastasiades did not prepare any text to ensure the unity of the faction. This I say in capital letters that it is a lie." This provoked the reaction of Christodoulidis, who replied that he has said publicly that the president made many efforts to find a solution but there was no result and I did not accept that he was under pressure because I did not accept that the solution proposed by Averov should be found."

Then Neophytou retorted that it is a second lie, since it was "the president's initiative and he personally prepared a text in a last-ditch effort to keep the faction and not have the disruptive movement of Christodoulidis. My own position was clear, and whatever initiative he approved, I also approved it."

In turn, Christodoulidis said that "the meeting with the President took place in Limassol at the President's residence, one day before I resigned in the presence of four people". Averov then said that this is the third lie, stressing that he is talking about December and not January.

He went on to state that “this is our leader of tomorrow. We're talking about December 2021 and the president's effort to keep the party united and he's talking about Melathron." Christodoulidis reiterated that we must respect the president of the Republic a little.

Taking the floor, Mavroyiannis said that "the differences of alarmist candidates do not concern me. I think they don't concern the world either."
