The following is Mr. Hadjigeorgiou's statement:
I am Linos Ioannis Hadjigeorgiou, a lawyer and ELAM soldier since my teenage years.
Many of you know me from my candidacy in the European elections, where we fought an honest and strong fight together, aiming to elect an MEP from ELAM for the first time, and we succeeded.
Today, exactly seven months before the parliamentary elections, I am here to announce that I will be a candidate for Member of Parliament for the Famagusta District.
I am not coming to replace any competitor, but to add strength and energy to our fight.
I come for the forgotten residents of the free Famagusta District, but also for the proud refugee Famagusta residents who are displaced throughout the territory of free Cyprus.
Greek men and women of Cyprus, I want and can amplify the voice of Famagusta in the new Parliament. Because the soil I walked on will not be forgotten and the land I miss will always be Greek.
