C. Prosecutor: The parliament should not make last-minute amendments

Attorney General Costas Clerides called on lawmakers to avoid making last-minute amendments to bills reaching the plenary. In this way, Mr. Clerides said, the adoption of unconstitutional legislation will be avoided.

The Attorney General spoke at the presentation of the two anti-corruption bills.
In his own position, the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Ionas Nikolaou, stated that the amendments would be well discussed first before the parliamentary committees.
The two state officials expressed the view that many of the problems that currently exist will be addressed through the operation of a Legal Service in Parliament.
