Turkey wants to be part of a new European security architecture, said Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, noting that Europe is on a path of no return.
In an interview with the Financial Times, the Turkish Foreign Minister, commenting on the actions of US President Donald Trump, said that this is a “warning to design and unite our own center.” Hakan Fidan stated that, in the event of NATO’s dissolution, Turkey would like to be part of a new European security architecture.
Regarding European security, he said that “the arrow has left the bow and there is no way to turn it back.” Hakan Fidan added that “even if US President Trump chooses not to withdraw from Europe now, it is possible that someone with similar views and political ideas in the future will consider reducing the US contribution to European security.”
