The "foreign minister" of the occupied Tahsin Ertugruloglu expressed his belief that the goal of recognizing the pseudo-state will advance, commenting on the speech of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan at the 78th UN General Assembly.

In his written statement in the occupied territories, he says that Erdogan's appeal to the international community to recognize the pseudo-state's independence and to establish diplomatic, political and economic relations, as well as the appeal that the UN peacekeeping force acts impartially in Cyprus "have made the Turkish Cypriot people extremely happy", according to his expression.

"With these statements, President Erdogan has once again declared to the world that the official acceptance of the existence of two neighboring states living in peace and tranquility on the island of Cyprus is the only solution to the Cyprus issue," he argued.

He added that he strongly believed that the goal of recognizing the "tdvk", as the pseudo-state was referred to, would be advanced during the "Turkish century", the new strategy that Mr Erdogan announced after his re-election.

Mr. Ertugruloglou also mentioned that the push of the Turkish Cypriot side "on the basis of two sovereign equal states" in Cyprus is moving forward with determination, recalling that last year the Turkish President made the same appeal before the UN General Assembly.
