Coordination is ongoing at all levels to maintain the positive trend observed in the reduction of arrivals and the increase in deportations of irregular immigrants, Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis said on Thursday.
In statements to the media at the Presidential Palace, and when asked to comment on a report by the newspaper "O Fileleftheros" that a group has been established by the Ministry of Justice and Public Order and the Deputy Ministry of Immigration to examine issues concerning irregular immigrants who do not consent to their departure from Cyprus, the Spokesperson said that "what is known through the emphasis that the Government places on effective immigration policy is the continuous close coordination of all competent Departments and Ministries in order to maintain this positive trend that is observed in both the reduction in arrivals and the increase in deportations of irregular immigrants."
In this context, coordination is continuous and at all levels, he said.
