A joint meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erciyurman, will be convened by the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, Maria Angela Holguin, on January 28, as announced by the United Nations in Cyprus.
Ms. Holguin, who will be on the island from January 26 to 29, will also have separate meetings with Messrs. Christodoulides and Erchiurman on January 27, while the previous day she will meet with the negotiators of the two sides.
Specifically, according to a written statement to the media by the UN Spokesperson in Cyprus, Ms. Holguin has just completed her visit to Brussels, where she met with the EU High Representative, Kaia Kallas.
It is added that Ms. Holguin will then travel to Cyprus where she will be from January 26 to 29, 2026 and as part of her efforts, she will meet “on January 26 with the negotiators of the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders.”
Moreover, on January 27, he will have separate meetings with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, it is reported.
The following day, Ms. Holguin will convene a joint meeting between Mr. Erhiurman and Mr. Christodoulides, as a follow-up to the meeting they had on December 11, 2025, the statement concludes.
