Michalis Giakoumi: "The President's announcements regarding the Famagusta region constitute an important step towards the development and upgrading of the region"

"Of the 30 or more projects worth 122 million, the creation of the Autism Center in the Free Province of Famagusta deserves special mention"

Famagusta MP for DIPA - Cooperation, Michalis Giakoumis, made a statement regarding the announcements of the Government of President Christodoulides.

This is his statement.

The announcements of the President of the Republic for the Free Province of Famagusta constitute an important step towards the development and upgrading of our region. From the statements of local actors after the presentation, but also through my contacts with the local authorities, I have noted the positive response and satisfaction for the projects that have been announced and launched.

Of the 30 or more projects worth 122 million, the creation of the Autism Center in the Free Province of Famagusta deserves special mention. A pioneering project that will offer specialized support services to children, as well as adults, who are on the autism spectrum, as well as to their families. This is an extremely important initiative that responds to an increased social need and is expected to substantially improve the quality of life of our fellow citizens who need it.

Additionally, important projects included in the announcements are:
• The upgrading of hospital infrastructure, which will enhance the quality of health services and ensure better access to specialized medical services for all residents of the region.
• Improving the road network, with upgrades that will facilitate travel, enhance road safety and improve the region's connectivity with urban centers and tourist resorts.
• Strengthening the tourism and business sector, through targeted interventions that will create new opportunities for development and employment, providing a boost to the local economy.
• The creation and upgrading of school and sports infrastructure, ensuring better learning and sports conditions for the children and young people of our Province.

As a Member of Parliament for the Famagusta District, I express my satisfaction for the above development, as well as for the reference by the President of the Republic to our own contribution in the inclusion of specific projects, which is a recognition of the collective effort we are making for the Free District of Famagusta. The effort, of course, does not end here. We will continue to monitor the implementation of the projects, remaining committed to promoting the interests of our fellow citizens and ensuring that Famagusta will receive the support and investments it deserves, for a dynamic and sustainable development.
