The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, sent a message of unity and solidarity to the Republic of Cyprus, underlining the importance of close cooperation between Greece, France and Cyprus.
"We are sending a common, resounding and decisive message of unity and solidarity. The Republic of Cyprus is not and will never be alone. The strategic relationship between Greece, France, and Cyprus has been tested in practice," said Mr. Mitsotakis, emphasizing that the three countries are demonstrating their cooperation and support in times of challenge.
The Greek Prime Minister clarified that the actions being taken are exclusively defensive in nature. "We are operating purely defensively. Exclusively and solely for the defensive protection of an EU state," he said, adding that "there is no room for complacency," as, as he noted, "such conflicts are often accompanied by population movements."
Addressing the Cypriot people, Mr. Mitsotakis sent a message of support and unity: "Brother Cypriots, I am here with all the Greeks of the world," he emphasized.
