The memorandum of understanding signed by the Cypriot Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (C.R.I.E.) .K – CARIE) and the Union of Hellenic Aerospace, Security and Defense Companies (E.EL.EAA – HASDIG).
According to an announcement by K.S.E.K., the memorandum of understanding, signed during the BATTLEFIELD ReDEFiNED 2023 international conference, held last Monday and Tuesday, in Limassol, marks the beginning of a new era in the cooperation of defense industries of the two countries.
The memorandum was signed by the President of K.S.E.K. Dr. Tasos Kounoudis and the President of E.EL.EAA Mr. Nikolaos Papatsas, in the presence of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Cyprus Charalambos Petridis and the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus Ioannis Papameletiou.
"The aim of the memorandum is to consolidate and strengthen the cooperation between the defense industries of Greece and Cyprus, both bilaterally and at the European and international level, since the companies of the two countries already participate in joint European Defense Research and Development programs high-tech systems," it added.
The signing of the memorandum, the announcement continues, is the basis of a new era of close cooperation between Greece and Cyprus, in the field of security and defense, the development of new innovative systems and their commercial promotion in international markets.
