The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, has convened, due to developments in the region, an emergency National Security Council, which will meet at 17:00, announced Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis.
In his post on X, Mr. Letymbiotis states that "taking into account the latest developments in the wider region and in the context of constant operational readiness, the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides convened an emergency National Security Council for today at 17:00 p.m."
He also noted that the Special National Plan "ESTIA" has already been activated for the reception and repatriation of foreign citizens through the Republic of Cyprus.
