The Ministry of Interior announced that, following consultation with the House of Representatives, the Secretariat of the Cyprus Presidency and the Cyprus Police, the date for the 2026 Parliamentary Elections has been set as Sunday, May 24, 2026.

In this context and in accordance with the provisions of article 67 of the Constitution, the House of Representatives will proceed to take a decision to dissolve itself at a plenary session on Thursday, April 23, 2026. The announcement of the elections will be made by a relevant Decree of the Minister of Interior that will be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic on Friday, April 24, 2026, while nominations will be submitted on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
