This was stated by President Christodoulidis, speaking, upon his arrival at today's European Council meeting in Brussels.
The President of the Republic noted that he discussed with the President of the Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, on the sidelines of the morning meeting of the European People's Party, about the role that the European Union seeks to play in the Cyprus issue.
The announcements, as he said, are expected to be made after the process of validating the appointment of the new European commissioners.
