The president of the Democratic Alert and candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Averof Neophytou, issued a statement on the proposed law on the farm to be visited.

The statement states that "the bill concerning the regulation of the establishment and operation of visitable farms in an effort to revitalize the countryside and give development prospects to our communities was presented today by the President of DISY and candidate for the Presidency of the Republic Mr. Averof Neophytou in in the presence of the MP and President of the Trade Committee Mr. Kyriakos Hatzigiannis and associates".

Averof Neofytou stated the following regarding this:

"A fundamentally strong economy must give opportunities to everyone. And to the workers and the self-employed and to the entrepreneurs and also to our farmers.

Our job is to find ways for each of these social groups to increase their income. The concept of the visitable farm responds to this very logic. With the bill we are submitting as a Democratic Alert, with the President of the Trade Committee, Mr. Hatzigiannis, the farmer has the opportunity to increase his income and at the same time become a small businessman for the benefit of himself and his family.

A visitable farm will be able to include accommodation and overnight infrastructure, product sales displays and small dining and training areas. The goal is for each farm to become a place to visit where each visitor will have the opportunity to get to know the production methods, to be able to enjoy nature and at the same time to give development prospects to the rural communities and generate significant additional income for the farmers and our producers.

At the same time, we will enrich our tourist product by providing the possibility to visitors who wish to visit the farms and experience something very different".
