"We will send the message to the wider civil society that the DISY, united and strong, continues its course unscathed", declared today the candidate for the presidency of the Democratic Alarm and Speaker of the Parliament Annita Dimitriou, adding that there is no winner and loser in the electoral process and that together with Dimitris Dimitriou they will continue together and be next to each other.
In statements after exercising her right to vote for the presidency of DISY, at the Multipurpose Center in Larnaca, Annita Dimitriou said that "today, no one and no one can be absent from this electoral contest. The message that must be given must be a resounding, strong command, the Democratic Alarm is here, united, strong, a protagonist in political events." He added that "the more massive the attendance, the more resounding the message will be."
When asked how the next day will find DISY, he answered that "the next day must find us united. To CONTINUE. strengthening precisely this effort, always collectively, all that these days we had the opportunity to exchange opinions with the world, our executives to transform them into action and of course to proceed with all that we have planned".
Asked about this, Mrs. Dimitriou replied that "from tomorrow, DISY is moving into a new era. We keep everything that has been gained all this time and together we continue." He also stated that "it is an evolutionary, a modernizing, renewing effort and we need everyone there. Nothing and no one is left out, on the other hand, the more we are, the more empowered we are and the more we convey, in essence, to the wider civil society, our political message, that DISY, united and strong, continues its course unscathed".
Asked to state what the next day will be for the loser of the elections, she said that "I don't think there is a winner and a loser, we are all members of the same family. From the first moment I have declared both publicly and to my good colleague (Dimitris Dimitriou) that we will be there, next to each other, whatever the result."
Ara continued "either I personally am the choice, or my good colleague Dimitris Dimitriou from the first moment we will be together to continue this effort side by side".
When asked whether she is stressed by the specific electoral process, Ms. Dimitriou replied that "we have so much encouragement from the world and we receive so much strength from the world that there is no stress. After all, we shouldn't be afraid of the elections, we shouldn't be afraid of the people's verdict".
He also reiterated that “the people are our representatives, the people decide whether to hand over the baton to us or take it away from us. We there, his servants, to do the best we can under the prism of the collective for all that we have to deal with small and big, belonging to and representing DISY and we are very proud of it".
Finally, Annita Dimitriou thanked "the people who have already responded" and exercised their right to vote and called on "everyone, the executives, the friends of the faction to strengthen us in this first act of unity, in which we all proceed today together".
