A mobile desalination unit from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will cover water needs for 2025, announced the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, in an interview he gave to the Antenna television station.
In the context of his interview, an excerpt of which was made public on Wednesday evening, the President of the Republic stated that the mobile desalination unit will be provided free of charge to the Republic of Cyprus by the UAE, underlining the importance of relations in the context of the country's foreign policy, and in matters of domestic policy.
President Christodoulides explained that the Republic of Cyprus had made a request to the UAE and stated that “the President of the country decided that this mobile unit should be given free of charge to the Republic of Cyprus, within the framework of the excellent political relations we have.” He also recalled that the UAE was the country with which Cyprus collaborated, together with the US, on the Amalthea humanitarian corridor.
He also stated that this will be done immediately, in order to cover the country's water needs for 2025.
