His readiness for a tripartite meeting with the UN Secretary General and the Turkish Cypriot leader in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, was expressed on Monday by the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, in his statements coming to the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, where he is holding visit on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.

Asked about the possibility of a tripartite meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar during his stay in New York for the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, the President of the Republic said that it has been targeted by the UN for various dates and has responded positively to all of them, expressing his readiness to meet the Turkish leader, and awaits further information

"I have been scouted for specific dates in 2-3 of the cases and I have responded positively," he noted.

When asked about the reactions that have been caused in the occupied territories by the inclusion of the "Famagusta" series on Netflix and the threats heard by Mr. Tatar and other parties, President Christodoulidis said that apparently the above have not seen it, adding that apart from the recording of the truth and the indisputable fact of the Turkish invasion of 1974, also sends very important messages to those who happened to watch it.
