We are monitoring the developments in our region in cooperation not only with the European Union and the United States, but also with the neighboring states with which we are in constant contact, said the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulidis on Friday, recalling that Cyprus will host the next week the Med9 summit "and the Middle East issue is the one that will dominate".
"Moreover, how can we as the EU take some initiatives to avoid further tension of the situation", said President Christodoulidis, who made statements attending the Scientific conference entitled "1974-2024: Fifty years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus ", held at the University of Cyprus.
“You realize that ending what's going on is a primary goal. Termination so as to give time to diplomacy so that a diplomatic way out can be found to end all of this we see every day", he stressed finally.
