The President of the Republic, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, received today, at the Presidential Palace, the new President of SYRIZA, Mr. Stefanos Kasselakis.
Welcoming Mr. Kasselakis, President Christodoulidis congratulated him on his election to the Presidency of SYRIZA, and as the leader of the official opposition, adding that "I expect the cooperation that always exists with the leader of the official opposition in Greece and in general with everyone to continue the party leaders.
We have common goals, common aspirations, common challenges, cooperation must be taken for granted.
I welcome the fact that you chose your first visit outside Greece to be in Cyprus, it is of symbolic and essential importance.
I also welcome your associates, they are well known in their previous capacities and the cooperation we had and I look forward to our discussion."
For his part, Mr. Kasselakis, after thanking the President of the Republic, said that "I too am looking forward to our discussion and our cooperation. I also want to thank you because you were the first phone call I received after my election."
