The next meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar will take place on May 5, as the President himself stated today.
In statements made while attending the 15th Nicosia Economic Congress in Nicosia and asked if there was any news regarding the appointment of a Personal Envoy by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Republic said that official announcements from the UN are awaited, adding that the latest information was that the bureaucratic work is being done.
He also added that there was a response from the Turkish Cypriot side on various dates and the next meeting was set for May 5.
"I look forward to the meeting I will have, as well as the announcement from the United Nations and the visit to Cyprus," said President Christodoulides.
"We are ready to welcome the Secretary-General's Personal Envoy to begin the substantive discussion so that we are ready in view of the meeting at the end of July, the expanded conference that the Secretary-General will convene," he concluded.
